Police are hoping to speak with associates of a missing North York man whose body was discovered Oct. 7 north of Toronto.

The remains of Chi Ngu Ngo, 47, were found "in an open area" north of the city, Det. Sgt. Dan Sheppard of the homicide squad told reporters Oct. 8. Sheppard declined to give a specific location.

Sheppard said the deceased was living a double life: one of a family man and father of three and the other associated with persons who had a "high risk lifestyle".

"We want to speak to these persons," he said, adding the associates are involved with gambling and illicit drugs. "He (Ngo) didn't really have a job proper. He was an esthetician by trade but not currently employed."

Ngo was known to police, Sheppard said.

Police are also looking for Ngo's car, which police believe was loaned to him, that was last seen in his driveway. It's described as an older model dark gray or brown Ford Taurus station wagon.

Police were called to Ngo's home by the man's concerned children Sept. 25, the day after he went missing, and found signs of foul play.

A post-mortem is scheduled for Oct. 10.

Ngo's is Toronto's 54th homicide of the year.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 416-808-7814 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-8477.
